October 9-11- 2014 - Register now for the AAHGS 35th National Conference at the Doubletree Hilton-Greentree Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA.   The theme for the 2014 AAHGS Annual National Conference is "Weaving Our Past, Present and Future: Slavery, Abolition, Freedom and All That Jazz."  The Call for Papers deadline and speaker selection is normally finalized in June.  Sponsorhip Agreement form is available concerning the cost of ads for the booklet for those who wish to submit.

Our Mission

bullet To provide a forum for individuals to network and share genealogical and historical research methodology.
bullet To enhance the heritage of African-Americans.
bullet To work cooperatively with other chapters and groups to exchange ideas and experiences.
bullet To encourage the collection and preservation of memoirs, diaries, documents, artifacts and records of importance to African-American research.
bullet To participate in the programs and activities of the National Society.
